Oil Spill Update
Dear ResortQuest Partner:
Our Coast is Clear! Northwest Florida and Alabama beaches still are not impacted by the oil spill. We continue to post daily updated photos of our beautiful Florida and Alabama Gulf Coast beaches, as well as live interviews of beach-goers having fun in the sun.
I met with a small group of hospitality industry leaders at the Lucky Snapper Restaurant in Destin on Mothers Day, to discuss with Gov. Charlie Crist the impact of the oil spill on tourism in Northwest Florida. I requested at that meeting that he find us funds immediately to combat the negative image of our beaches in the national media. The following Tuesday, the Governor requested $35 million dollars from BP and just last week they agreed to fund our project with $25 million. We have already started a grass roots PR campaign of our own and need your help. Please send the link above to all of your friends, family, business associates and media in your area. Let’s show them what our beaches REALLY look like!
